In a tech-friendly gesture, the Catholic Church has approved an iPhone app to allow busy Catholics to confess their 'sins' without setting foot in a church.
Little iApps is offering the "Confession: a Roman Catholic App" for $1.99. Though not to be used as a replacement but rather, it helps you keep track of them, either by choosing from the list or adding their own transgressions.
Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend in Indiana gave the app the Church's official seal of approval.
Little iApps' Patrick Leinen said, "Our desire is to invite Catholics to engage in their faith through digital technology." (Reuters)
In other digital ventures, the Vatican started it's own YouTube channel in 1999, which allows you to see video and text of Pope addresses.
