"We Aren't Going to Blow Up the Earth!" CERN Traps Anti-hydrogen For 1000 Seconds

CERN Scientists have managed to trap 309 anti-hydrogen atoms for up to 1000 seconds.

Antimatter, the opposite of matter, annihilates when it comes in contact with matter. How do you create a container not made of matter? A magnetic field of course!

And it only took a few months. They had trapped 38 atoms for 172 milliseconds previously.

Check out the HuffPost Tech Video:

As the scientist in the video says so succinctly, now they can actual come up with tests and experiments to run on antimatter which should, in the years to come, reveal even more about the universe.
